Locksmith Wiki Knowledge Base TM - Unlocking a World of Information TM

What is a "Wiki"?

wi·ki (wĭk'ē)
n. pl. wi·kis
A collaborative website whose content can be edited by anyone who has access to it.
American Heritage Dictionary*

A wiki is different than a forum, bulletin board, newsgroup, or online community. It is a place where one article should contain all the information you need without having to scroll through threads of messages before coming to a correct answer or a generally accepted point of view on a matter. You can add information as you see fit or correct information that is incorrect.

We welcome you to join the Locksmith Wiki Knowledge Base.

LocksmithWiki.com has 3,345 articles within this site and 592 uploaded files

Feel free to start an article or modify one of our 3,345 existing ones.

Type something in the search box here. If there's an article on it already, you can add or edit the information. If it's not here, go ahead and start it. You'll be able to upload images and files for the rest of us to benefit from.

Consult the User's Guide for information on using the wiki software.

This site is free! No signup or membership fees required!

Some information in this site is security sensitive in nature. Therefore, we need to establish your credentials as a bona fide locksmith before allowing site access.

To register for a new account, it is suggested that you send us the following. The purpose is to reassure us that we are not letting just anyone free access to critical information. (It may help to copy and paste the below list into an email when sending this information to us).

  1. Desired Username (REQUIRED)
  2. Email Address (REQUIRED)
  3. Real First Name (REQUIRED)
  4. Real Last Name (REQUIRED)

This information is helpful to us, but not required:

  1. Home Street Address
  2. Home City, State, Zip, Country
  3. Home Telephone Number
  4. Company Name
  5. Company Street Address
  6. Company City, State, Zip, Country
  7. Company Telephone Number
  8. Web Site Address
  9. Current Associations and your Member Numbers
  10. Other information that would be helpful in verifying your identity and your credentials as a locksmith or security related professional

If you don't have all the information above, that's fine. Send us what you have.

What do we do with your address? We send you a letter with a few business cards inside. We also like to put your city and state in your user profile (which in itself is protected from unauthorized users). Nothing more. We don't post or sell your address to anybody.

Please email all that to mailto:register@locksmithwiki.com or fax to 1-727-230-0736. We will create an account once you have been verified. You will be sent a confirmation email containing a random password. If you do not hear back within 48 hours, we may not have received your email or some of your contact information is wrong. Please resubmit.

We reserve the right to refuse an account if we feel you do not qualify for membership status. Therefore, sending pictures of your business card, Yellow Page ad, suppliers invoice, etc. sure does help in verifying your status as a locksmith or security tradesperson.

Thank you,
Gilles Deacur
